Le discours ethnique entre mythe et politique: l'exemple des Pataxo du Mont Pascal (extrême Sud de Bahia)
Résumé
So that an ethnical discourse might be recongnisable as such, it must obey a determined set of rhetorical rules. Our analysis will attmpt to grasp this idea and move beyond the following paradox: whereas ethnic groups are growing more highly individualised, their discourses are increasingly uniform to facilitate their transmission. Given the example of territorial claims of the Pataxo Indians (Mouunt Pascoal, Brazil), we shall endeavour to pass from a notion of the stereotypa as a cliché (the harmony between Indians and Nature) to the stereotype as a conceptualisation and categorisation process, to penetrate its mythical dimension.
Le discours ethnique, pour être reconnu comme tel, obéit à diverses règles rhétoriques. Malgré son caractère stéréotypé, ce discours, soumis à l'analyse narratologique, révèle une articulation profonde entre mythe et stratégie politique. L'exemple des Pataxo du Mont Pascal, au Brésil, nous permettra de mettre en évidence les représentations sous-jacentes à la figure obligée de l'indien en symbiose avec la nature.
