The Sand family is engaged, during the years 1840, to the practice of the theatre in its house of Nohant. In a reflexive text, “Le théâtre et l'acteur”, George Sand operates a bringing together between its own practices and those that she designates like belonging to the category “popular art”. The notion of heterotopy permits, in first process, the exam of this textual operation of qualification – some literate making «popular art» – all the more as she deploys on the spatial fashion, and beyond of thinking its conception of the “popular art”. However this transport of the notion of heterotopy is accompanied by a displacement of point of view, of the heterotopy toward the “heterotopisation”.
