Sex, Food, and Valentines Day: Language of Food - Language of Love:
Résumé
The names given — or not given — to food reveal a great deal about society and how these foods are represented. Although brand names or product names have been studied by many marketing researchers or linguists, the nature of the names accorded to culinary specialities remains largely unexplored. This study reveals there is a dual level of reading a Valentines Day menu in a Parisian restaurant — one level deals with the words related to love in the process of naming dishes, the other with the idea of love underlying beneath those names.
