Du binaire au multiple dans la relation transculturelle en traduction

Abstract : Translation is not only a question of linguistic transfer from one tongue to another, for it can neither be viewed, nor studied without taking into account all the factors influencing both the perception of the original text and the translator. In consequence, these factors affect the text produced. It is no longer possible to think in binary terms (with the original on one side and the translation on the other), but the whole progression, arduous as it may be, must be included. So the artificial frontier drawn between original and translation disappears and a new space is considered. An intermediary space for mediation, overlapping, interpenetrations, a space of profusion where cultural and literary hybridization, resting on linguistic and cultural creolization, can generate a heterophonic text, which creates a new ethnography.
