The United States has always been a country of immigration. In 2013, 13% of the population is Foreign Born, but one fourth of them are undocumented. Who are those undocumented, Hispanics for 80%, and what is their place in the the american society? In the context of post 9/11, they bear new immigration control policies enforced at different spatial scales, with varied degrees of risk and repression according to the states, counties and cities they live in. Undocumented immigrants hesitate between tactics of invisibilization and mobilization, in a context of uncertainty and spatial fragmentation. How do these situations shed light on the issue of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform, which has been debated for years, and is eventually about to be discussed by the House of Representatives in 2014?
