The Odes: Object of Readings, Object of Discourse

Abstract

A case study, poem n°9 entitled “Han guang” 漢廣 (The Han river is large) and a series of commentaries associated to it, provides us with the opportunity to shed light on a variety of hermeneutic tool - on the use of narratives in particular. This finally brings us to apply Franc Schuerewegen’s postextual method to the text in order to find a literary way of reading the Odes.
