Wildlife and Hunting in Angkor According to the Bas-Reliefs of the Bayon
The study of the bas-reliefs of the Bayon provides information on the relationship between the Khmer of the late 13th century and the wildlife of the forests around Angkor. Hunting, notably using crossbows, appears quite frequently. Various animals are shown in the sculptures, with two of them as threats to humans: tiger and crocodile.
