La complexité des figurations culturelles en traduction

Abstract : What is there behind the phrase "cultural figurations"? Non lexical items affecting the deep structure of discourse and giving it a very specific flavour. Such subtleties, so natural to local native speakers, are felt like cultural markers by other readers. When such deep structures are to be dealt with in translation, the whole process is made all the more complex. Only a bold translation can deal with such forms, as it will be daring enough to fabricate original structures. Thus a new system will be created: it will be hybrid and disconcerting, because decentering, and it may be thought-provoking for the readers of the translation.
