Abstract : The effectiveness of spatial representations of concepts in the process of knowledge construction is well established today, but their use to assess the knowledge of the learner is innovative. To verify this new approach, we have designed a method of experimentation that crosses an array of quantitative and qualitative criteria with a comparative study of "learning" productions from a reference card "teacher." This experiment, coupled with ICT tools, proved to be one hand an effective way to assess knowledge of a learner at a time t in the learning process and also an important means of motivation for learner: making it active at all stages of their learning.
