Axel Honneth’s Antagonism: What Changes When the Mode of Acquiring Recognition Changes
Résumé
I believe it to be necessary to identify the properties attributed to struggle that could explain the central place it occupies in Honneth’s system. First, I will consider some hypotheses concerning the history of the concept in order to try to explain the prominence of struggle (1). Then I will examine the effects that the two struggling parties have on each other (2), before considering the effects attributed to struggle in the world in which it emerges (3).
