Review of Buffetrille Katia (ed.), Revisiting Rituals in a Changing Tibetan World
Résumé
Revisiting Rituals in a Changing Tibetan World is a very welcome, carefully produced addition to Brill’s by now well-known “Tibetan library” series. It contains the proceedings of a conference on the contemporary transformation of rituals in the Tibetan cultural area, held at the Collège de France in November 2007. The volume is thematically focused, but not rigidly so, allowing for explorations of neighbouring domains, such as Buddhist contexts marked by the influence of Tibetan Buddhism, or topics going somewhat beyond a central focus on ritual per se.
