Le faux problème hussite dans la littérature vieil-Roumaine
Abstract
The Hussite influences in the early Romanian translations of the 16th century have always been predicted, but never proven beyond doubt. More recently, the possible influence of a certain Czech medieval Bible translation upon a 'prototype' of the Sibiu Gospels (1551-1553) has finally been identified, but the role played by the Hussites in the transmission of the Czech text may well be disputed. The present study focuses upon a comparison with the influence of Czech translations in the Hungarian and Ruthenian literatures, as well as upon numerous other factors which help explain the Czech influence in the Romanian Gospels, apart from the Hussites.
