Contesti di pittura inediti della tarda epoca repubbli-cana e della prima età imperiale, conservati nei Depositi di Ostia
Résumé
During the 1970s, stratigraphic surveys were conducted in various Ostian buildings. This enabled the discovery of traces and decorations of some rich domus dated to the late Republic and end of the first century AD. The paintings, kept in the storage facilities of the site and never studied before, are attributable to the second and fourth Pompeian style. Even if their original context remains unknown, these fragments considerably improve our knowledge of the Ostian painting and give many interesting indications about the quality of the painted decorations in Ostia between the first centuries BC and AD.
