Desde Sevilla y Talavera de la Reina hacia Lima, la difusión de un lenguaje ornamental reflejado en azulejos (1600-1650)

Résumé

Ornaments of various kinds were constantly shipped between centres of the Catholic Monarchy empire. The close links existing between Seville, Talavera de la Reina, and Lima are materialized through the migration of painters and tiles to the Viceroyalty of Peru and the diffusion of original aesthetic compendiums that were adapted and interpreted in new ways. The engravings were relevant means of expression and considered sources of inspiration for new models. If the works created by the workshop belonging to the Valladares family of Sevilla represent a creative paradigm, this did not prevent the formation of a repertoire associating Iberian models with local sensibility personified in the figure of the tile maker Juan del Corral.
