«The delicate frontier between schematism and reflection»
Résumé
Jean Petitot pioneered the renewal of the trascendental in contemporary science. In his seminal work on morphogenesis he defends the original idea that thanks to morphodynamical models the Kantian Third critique may be recasted in terms of the first one. In this contribution, tracking the afterlives of the epigenetic landscape in the evolution from catastrophe theory to semiophysics, and showing how they play an analogical role in mediating between theory and experience, I defend the idea that not all of the reflective judgment can be translated in terms of the determining judgment and analogy cannot be suppressed from morphogenetical theorising.
