Language policies in favor of indigenous languages in Pacific: a cross perspective between New Caledonia and Vanuatu

Résumé

This paper offers a comparative perspective of language and education policies of two neighbouring territories in the Oceanic linguistic ecosystem: New-Caledonia and Vanuatu. It provides an overview of indigenous language revitalization initiatives, to increase linguistic diversity at school, in highly plurilingual and post-colonial contexts.
