L'invention permanente : la hiérarchie urbaine
Résumé
This paper is about the circulation of the concept of urban hierarchy between scientists, mainly geographers, and planners, especially in France. It also questions how definitions may change between modellers and a didactic presentation of geographical concepts (in a famous Dictionary of Geography). Alterations, ambiguities, misunderstandings, capturing of vocabulary are not totally independent of power games, in the domain of politics as well as in the academic field.
