Abstract

A look at successive language policies in South Africa to explain the stalemate that caracterized the transition period, in spite of the 11 languages clause in the Constitution, and the changes that seem to be in the making since 2003.
Les politiques linguistiques successivement suivies en Afrique du Sud expliquent la relative inaction dans ce domaine qui a suivi l'instauration de la démocratie et la reconnaissance de onze langues officielles dans la Constitution, et les changements en cours depuis 2003
