La méthode du métarécit pour une reconnaissance de la pluralité dans l'appréhension du réel.
Résumé
The method of 'meta-account' aims to reply to a very particular methological problem which has come up in our research for which the central object is the grade exam in aikido as in the changement of level. It is about the reporting of a characteristic event which is circumstancially marked, and that occurs in a contextual time and space. This event is produced by the assembly of several participants in the realization of a task of producing precise learning skills that we are looking to identify. The ethnographic type of description which is based on the spectator's point of view, seems to us insufficient in order to transcribe in psycho-cognitive terms the way in which the participants each experienced this event. Subsequently, we have called for another approach, that of clarifying interviews, the theory of which was created and developped by Pierre Vermersh. With this approach each participant gives his own version which is coherent and rich with personal points of view of an event shared between all. Thus we have tried another 'path' (method) using techniques allowing the co-construction of an account. This construction is made up of the ethnographic observation and as many interviews as there are actor-participants present. The external observation of the spectator and the internal observation of the participants collide, fit in, answer for and complement each other similar to that of a three-dimensional puzzle. The multiple aspects of this lead us to call this construction 'meta-account'. In this article we describe how we have used technical and technological means, and especially the audio-videographic tool , to serve as basis for the conception and writing of the first meta-accounts.
Nous avons élaboré la méthode du métarécit afin de répondre à un problème méthodologique bien particulier posé par notre recherche ciblant l'examen de passage de grade en aikidô en tant que franchissement de seuil : rendre compte d'un événement particulier, circonscrit dans le temps et l'espace, et au cours duquel la rencontre entre plusieurs protagonistes dans la réalisation d'une tâche était estimée générer des apprentissages précis qu'il nous fallait mettre en avant. La description de type ethnographique, en ne s'appuyant que sur le regard de l'observateur, nous semblait insuffisante à transcrire en termes psycho-cognitifs la manière dont chacun des acteurs vivait cet événement. Nous avons par conséquent convoqué une autre démarche, celle des entretiens d'explicitation, théorisée et développée par Pierre Vermersh. Mais chaque interlocuteur se trouvait ainsi à l'origine d'une version des faits vécus possédant sa propre cohérence et sa propre richesse particulière même si l'événement déroulé était partagé entre tous. L'idée centrale de notre méthode est alors apparue sous la forme d'une volonté de construction d'un récit où, par l'entremise de l'observation ethnographique et autant d'entretiens que de sujets acteurs, regard externe de l'observateur et regards internes des protagonistes se confrontaient, s'imbriquaient, se répondaient et se complétaient à la manière d'un puzzle à multiples facettes. Cet aspect multidimensionnel nous a amené à désigner notre construction sous le vocable de “ Métarécit ”. Nous décrivons dans cet article l'utilisation que nous avons faite des moyens techniques et technologiques que nous avons mobilisés, et tout particulièrement de l'outil vidéo, pour servir de base à la conception et l'écriture des premiers métarécits.
