Social Europe and the limits of soft law - the example of ‘flexicurity'

Résumé

"Social Europe" and "flexicurity" are first to be seen as political slogans used by European politicians. Secondly, they can be used as concepts to explore whether (a) there exist any convergence of labour market and social protection among EU member states; and (b) whether this takes any form of 'Europeanisation'.
