Recomposing the puzzle. Europeanization and the Integration of Immigrants
Résumé
The paper will discuss the primary data of a research into public policies aimed at the
integration of immigrants, in particular focusing on the insertion into the labour market through
vocational training. The central issue is related to the extent of responsibility that different status
actors have at a local level and the manner in which active networks of partners function in the
territory we have studied: Marseille (France).
The aim is to understand how actors coordinate at a local level with other institutional and
informal actors that claim different levels of competence. In a multilevel perspective we
integrate the European dimension with our object of analysis, in order to have a supplementary
analysis tool to interpret the normative and structural characteristics of the analysed territory
and the policy formulation and discourses of actors.
