This article revisits the reason that led Leon Walras not to give enough consideration to the economic and social analysis work of Adolphe Landry. The two authors are in fact fervent defenders of socialism and consider the recommendations that they propose for social economics are based on demonstrations of economic analysis. We show that Walras did not appreciate Landry's work at its fair value because of methodological inconsistencies and a different assessment of the forms of competition as well as the resulting rules for distributive justice.
