The aim of this chapter is to use the concepts of experience and strategies to offer insight into the lives of a small group of elite women
who studied at the previously all-male American University of Beirut from the 1920s to the 1940s.The chapter is structured around three main aspect of women’s experiences on campus: enrollment strategies, access to campus space and extracurricular activities on
campus.
