Le mobilier du palais royal d’Ougarit. Un nouveau programme de recherche.
Résumé
The Late Bronze Age royal palace of the city of Ugarit was discovered and excavated during former research on the tell of Ras Shamra. The building, whose prosperity was mentioned in contemporary texts, belongs to one of the most important Near Eastern palatial complex. This monumental building is mostly unpublished; only its archives were rapidly and comprehensively published. Since 1999, a collective research program lead by the author on the royal palace objects and furniture aims to complete the detailed architectural study of J.-C. Margueron and O. Callot. After a presentation of research accomplished and published on different object classes, the first unpublished results of a study on faience, glass, Egyptian blu and glazed ceramic objects will be presented by the author.
