Résumé

Based on a five-year longitudinal study, this article aims to provide insight into how members of a virtuous network cope with the emergence of interpersonal conflicts involving their members. Our analysis of coping processes shows that both victims and offenders experience suffering when faced with the emergence of non-virtuous behaviours in a context which is supposed to suppress them. Our results show that virtue and personal interest blend together to give rise to a diversity of behaviours (avoidance, search for information, revenge, mediating third party, forgiveness) which attest to the robustness of ties in the virtuous network.
