An interactive method of the innovation process for the defense sector.
Résumé
The aim of this paper is to develop an interactive method of the innovation process for the defense sector. Our thesis is that the defense technological field has seen this configuration change over the last few decades, so that basic science has been substituted by R&D as the main force driving innovation. We propose an original methodology based on a double textual analysis. We use patent and scientific literature data (Orbit-Questel and Scopus), to identify the way science and technology interact to produce specific historical knowledge architectures on the defense field, over 1945-2015. We focus on CEA (The French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) because they produce innovation in defence area in both scientific literature and patents. We want to know what brought these knowledge hubs together and what separate them. Our method allows us to investigate various kinds of links, among others the nature, the scientific domains of documents cited, citations and localization.
