Aquitaine coast and migratory birds
Littoral aquitain et oiseaux migrateurs
Résumé
Bird migration is a complex phenomenon. Through the example of monitoring some common species of Western Palaearctic belonging
to different groups (terrestrial and aquatic) migrating along the Aquitaine coast, over twenty years it has been possible to detect
changes in the ways in which the birds migrate or in the numbers of birds that pass. These changes can be attributed to various causes,
among which are factors relating to climate, landscape or different and varied behaviours. The approach is primarily to address the most
obvious changes to the field observers. At present, no scientific analysis can accurately determine the cause of the observed changes.
