TeiPublisher for EpiDoc

Résumé

teiPublisher is an open source web application working with an eXist-db XML native database manager. It offers single-source out of the box publishing functionality for TEI documents, giving the editor the ability to customize the appearance of the reading text, without having to modify or create XSLT or Xquery code. The talk will present some work done at the research center Histoire et Sources des Mondes Antiques (HiSoMA ) in Lyon, France, to build a teipublisher web application for EpiDoc files. It will describe how we use the TEI processing models tagset to specify choices made regarding the appearance of the reading text. The objective is to develop and maintain a customizable and re-useable teiPublisher-EpiDoc application that could be used for several projects of HiSoMA. The advantages and drawbacks of the approach, as well as the possible alignment or integration with the EpiDoc XSLT reference stylesheets, will be discussed.
