This short communication aims at reexamining the origin and reading of an anthroponym specific of the region of Akhmîm in light of the inscriptions of a newly found chapel of Atum in this city. This discovery uncovered new elements concerning the local cults and more specifically the yet unknown cult of the agathodaimon Atum-ḫns-jꜢ.wt. The different writings of the anthroponym PꜢ/TꜢ-dj-ḫns-jꜢ.wt show that it was first built on the name of the sacred snake before it was reinterpreted phonetically into the seemingly better known, though meaningless, PꜢ/TꜢ-di-Ḫnsw-jj.
