Kalām et ǧumla : proposition, phrase, énoncé dans la tradition linguistique arabe
Résumé
This article discusses the different meanings of kalām and ǧumla in the Arabic linguistic tradition. It does so in a contrastive way, by confronting them with: 1) the traditional distinction in Western grammar between sentence and proposition/clause; 2) the concept of utterance, introduced by modern linguistics and forming a couple either with sentence or with enunciation.
Cet article traite des différents sens de kalām et ǧumla dans la tradition linguistique arabe. Il le fait de manière contrastive, en les confrontant : 1) à la distinction traditionnelle dans la grammaire occidentale entre phrase et proposition ; 2) au concept d’énoncé, introduit par la linguistique moderne et formant couple soit avec phrase, soit avec énonciation.
