The Place of the Instrument in the Analysis of Learning Interactions
Résumé
This paper presents the results of an experiment, which aimed to assess the impact of a computing environment on the quality and participation of year 10 students within a cooperative learning situation. The participants of the study were 15-year-old Amerindian students who lived in an isolated village in the Amazonian forest in Guiana. Our study emphasized an interactionist approach and used the KITLoK model to examine the content, quality and frequency of exchanges in an interactive learning situation. The results showed an evolution of written output, whereas did not indicate any significant change in oral participation. For this study, we used a software application, which helped stimulating students in their argumentations during their interactions within a multicultural and multilingual context.
