Mefkat, Térénouthis, Kôm Abou Billou, nouvelles recherches archéologiques à l’ouest du Delta
Résumé
The site of Abou Bellou is located in the Western Delta, 60 km northwest from Cairo. Nowadays split into two parts by a channel, it once housed the pharaonic Mefkat and Graeco-Roman Terenouthis. Since 2012, the IFAO and University of Lille have jointly engaged into a new archaeological programme on the site. The paper presents the story of this long-living city and the main objectives of the project.
