Interstitial Spaces and Controlled Participation : The Youth Center of Hay Mohammadi during the Years of Lead in Morocco
Résumé
To analyze how participation is being co-produced by the complex interactions and fluid boundaries between what are generally categorized as ‘state’ and ‘non-state’ actors, this chapter will therefore focus on a type of space in which such interactions are especially visible: youth centers in Morocco. The youth center of Hay Mohammadi, a working-class neighborhood in Casablanca is an illustrative example.
