Grammatik und Pragmatik des Nachfelds in DaF-Übungsgrammatiken
Résumé
The purpose of this paper is to present and discuss how grammars of German as a foreign language deal with the 'postfield' (Nachfeld), i.e. the position on the right periphery at the sentence level. Both sentential and non-sentential constituents (as manifestations of marked word order in German) can occur after what is known as the 'right sentence brace', i.e. in the postfield. Are the rules and explanations given in textbooks adequate? Do they reflect the results of the research on the postfield? Which recommendations could be formulated in order to enhance the acquisition of the role and functions of the postfield, both for beginners and advanced learners of German as a foreign language?
