Résumé

This article explores Micaela Feldman’s literary and cultural relations with the Spanish Civil War. A polyglot intellectual, a miliciana and heiress of Jewish Russian revolutionaries, Feldman developed her anti-authoritarian skills as a POUM militia’s captain. The revolution she pursued revealed itself as producing a cultural change which she translated in her literature through a cosmopolitan imagination. Following an analysis of her writing practices and linguistic uses, this chapter explores the vivid and permeable poetics of a libertarian spirit confronting the contingencies of the 20th century. The study provides evidence for invisibilized practices of translation, only transgressed in the French version of her Autofiction. Her bilingual text and self-translation, Mi guerra de España/Ma guerre d’Espagne à moi shows a complex mechanism of analogies and transparent correspondences. Feldman’s bilingual text problematizes the polyglot option which her poetics proposes as the manifestation of an epistemic dissidence seeking emancipation.
