New modalities of knowledge transmission in a rural South Indian community

Résumé

This paper deals with the contemporary changes occurring in a South Indian community regarding the transmission of its traditional occupation and the related knowledge. This communication is based on the data collected during a three-year fieldwork (2006-2008) in south-east Tamil Nadu state and in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
