Photography and geography. Gottmann’s practices of fieldwork
Résumé
This chapter studies Jean Gottmann's practices of picturing in the field as well as the status of these pictures in the development of his geographical thought. The fact that very few of them were published in his books invites to look at this visual corpus as an field notebook. Considering this intermediary role of pictures, the authors explore the evolution of the dialogue between picturing and knowing in Jean Gottmann's work.
