The distribution ranges of Camelus dromedarius from Arabia and C. bactrianus from Central Asia are found in Iran. In this country, hybrids of male camels and female dromedaries have many technical advantages, especially for the occupation of regions with contrasting terrain and climate. These strengths, however, are not sufficient to explain the distribution of these animals, at least irregularly, on the Iranian territory. This distribution roughly corresponds to that of the Turkish tribes, whose culture originated in the cold steppes of Central Asia where all material life could only be based on livestock. Technicity and ethnicity come together.
