Formal peculiarities of the Bantu connective relator

Résumé

In this paper I argue that the original word order in genitive constructions in the Niger-Congo languages was GEN-N. A study of the formal peculiarities of the Bantu connective (=genitive) constructions shows by which mechanisms the word order could have shifted to N-GEN in the Bantoid languages and languages with similar genitive relators.
