Teaching (with) digital tools. Barriers to the integration of digital technologies. Findings from the DIGI-SOC project.
Résumé
The digital transformation of society today requires mastering the use of various digital tools, whether in the field of work, education, administration, or tourism. Mastering these applications often refers to mastering digital skills, sometimes called digital literacies. Despite growing institutional and educational interest in digital skills, recent research shows that students and teachers still have a basic level of digital competence. This is one of the main reasons for the development of the Digi-Soc project. Accordingly, this presentation aims to discuss the barriers to the implementation and integration of digital technologies in higher education. It will be based both on a review of the literature on this issue and on the experience of the first learning, teaching and training activity, which was held in Katowice in October 2022 as part of the DIGI-SOC project.
