Conclusion. Le Nobel à l’épreuve du XXIe siècle
Résumé
“Conclusion. Le Nobel à l’épreuve du XXIe siècle” [“Conclusion. The Nobel Prize Facing the 21st Century”], Nikol Dziub and Augustin Voegele (Eds.), Le Prix Nobel de littérature et l’Europe [The Nobel Prize for Literature and Europe], Warsaw, Peter Lang, 2021, p. 195-198. (Symposium. University of Haute-Alsace, 20-21/06/2019.)
It seems that modernity, then post-modernity, hyper-modernity and now epi-modernity have imposed a major challenge on the Nobel Prize for Literature: it is an institution which, since its birth or almost, and now more than ever, has had to record and almost enshrine the irregularities, the swerves, the deviations of a literature confronted with the collapse of the (genealogically, if not essentially, European) system of values from which it was born, and which, as a result, decade after decade, has been less and less friendly to institutions.
