Théocrite le magicien
Résumé
Théocrite le magicien” [“Theocritus the Magician”] (review of Théocrite, Les Magiciennes et autres idylls [Theocritus, Idylls], translated into French by Pierre Vesperini, Paris, Gallimard, 2021), nonfiction.fr, 2022, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8263194
Theocritus, a lyrical, satirical and popular (in his own way) poet, looks all the more like a magician in that he seems to have made himself invisible – even if, of course, time is undoubtedly the main cause of this disappearance of the author, which should not be confused with the disappearance theorised by Barthes and implemented by Maurice Blanchot and, even closer to us, by Thomas Pynchon.
