La «Translatio cum miraculis sanctae Honorinae» (BHL 3983): edizione e commento di un’opera dell’«Anonymus Beccensis»

Résumé

The study presents the first complete critical edition of the Translatio cum miraculis (BHL 3983) of a virgin martyr venerated in Normandy, Honorina. The text was written between 1131 and 1137 in the priory of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, in the diocese of Paris, but dependent on the Norman abbey of Bec-Hellouin. At the same time, the essay presents the entire dossier consecrated to the saint, and connects it to the broader historical-hagiographical production of the abbey of Bec-Hellouin in the 12th century, which is also discussed. The attribution of the text, probably the work of a monk from Bec/Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (known as Anonymus Beccensis) and author of the canonical and patristic compilations and treatises partially transmitted by Paris, BNF, lat. 2342, is debated too: however, neither Robert, prior of Conflans- Sainte-Honorine, nor Maurice, a monk of Bec who was very close to Anselm, seem to respond correctly to attempts to identify an author who is still, to all intents and purposes, to be considered anonymous.
