Common senses
Résumé
This critical reading of Gilles Deleuze and Jean-François Lyotard rethinks their relationship in topological terms. Lyotard was right to tear himself away from the depth of bodies to which he had dedicated himself by rallying to Deleuze's anarchie désirante. But he may have been wrong to rely entirely on the form of language games. Between the chaos of depth and the forms of surface, there is room for a philosophy of common sense that would be a philosophy of expression. The thinking of psychologist Maxime Chastaing, which culminates in a mimological theory of the novel, offers the possibility of such an articulation.
