Participation au workshop: International Society for the First World War Studies ERC Conference
Résumé
In 2014-2018 the UK and the world marked the centenary of the First World War. Those years saw a great increase in public interest in the topic and funding opportunities for scholars of the conflict, especially PhD students and early career scholars. As a result, a new generation of remarkable First World War historians has emerged, who are now entering their mid-career stage. However, those who began studying the First World War in the years after the centenary had to navigate very different circumstances with decreasing attention to the topic and a global pandemic that prevented them from meeting and networking in person. This conference seeked to remedy that and bring together scholars at different stages of the career to discuss the state of the field of the First World War Studies.
