Résumé
This study addresses the environmental concerns caused by nonrenewable energy and explores hydrogen as a carbon-free alternative. It focuses on carbon emissions, hydrogen production techniques, costs, storage, transportation, delivery, application, governmental policies, and structural changes in the QUAD nations. The IETB and SWOT models have been used to analyze these factors. The study concludes that the QUAD countries enhance production efficiency through R&D, but high costs hinder widespread use. The US is the largest emitter, producer, and consumer of hydrogen energy, and each nation has unique drivers for investment in hydrogen energy. The strategic objective of developed nations investing in hydrogen energy is to achieve energy security, fairness, and mitigate climate change. Renewable energy-based hydrogen generation is the long-term sustainable option. This study provides a better understanding of global CO2 emissions and the contribution of atmospheric GHGs to sustainable energy transition.
