Organization, Models and Representations : from Complexity to Power
Résumé
A model is characterized by three aspects: its theoretical basis, explanatory capacity and predictive capacity. Modeling unlocks a model that leads to a project of replication. A model is a project of representation of facts coming from a “reality”. Like any social object, an organization raises the question of its representation. Systemic modeling leads to the acceptance of the idea that a system is a tool for modeling. The trajectory of the theory of systems in its application to organization therefore comes from cybernetics before being applied to biology, then to the social sciences. The informational poverty of organizations that are subjected to excessive inspections is at the basis of significant malfunctions. Smart governance is the framework for reconsidering the stakes of an e-administration in light of a “de-intermediation-re-intermediation” of government to government, government to business and government to citizen relationships.
