Basic scales and mutations in syntax
Échelles de base et mutations en syntaxe
Résumé
For each grammatical category, the language has a scale comprising a number of distinct classes. The use of the notions of scale and steps is justified by the fact that lexical items are determined by precise syntactic properties different from the classes, and by the fact that these properties increase in number with the "hierarchical degree" of the item.
