Crimen et peccatum. Examen de deux qualifications canoniques dans la documentation de la Pénitencerie Apostolique (XIIIe-XIVe siècles)
Résumé
Both latin terms crimen and peccatum, stemming at once of roman literature and roman law, then of the moral theology, are not only legal concepts which the canon law would have redefined during the XIIth century. They are also "qualifications"; it means terms which describe the reality in a judicial context. When we analyze the "administrative" documentation of the Apostolic Penitentiary of the XIIIth-XIVth centuries, we do realize that boundaries between "crimen" and "peccatum" are completely indistinct. There's a "grey area" within the government of the medieval Church.
