Les fours pour la préparation des glaçures dans le monde méditerranéen
Résumé
Three kilns of a kind unknown in southern France have been discovered in the late 13th pottery workshops of the faugoourg Sainte-Barbe in Marseille. These "glazing kilns" are the starting point for a reconsideration of the materials composing the frit and the colours, the procedures and structures known by treatises, texts, archeology and recent ethnological evidence in a widespread mediterranean context. Our research leads to a final essay on interpretation and reconstruction of this quite exceptionnal workshop.
